The Michigan League of Conservation Voters Endorsed Steven Bieda for the Michigan State Senate, citing Bieda’s “proven ability to bring green jobs to Michigan.”  According the  MLCV’s press release, “When Steve was in the State House, he was a reliable leader on many of the most important conservation issues facing the state and we are eager to send him back to Lansing to serve in the State Senate, a body which is in desperate need of his voice on these important subjects,” said Lisa Wozniak, Executive Director for Michigan LCV. “Steve’s remarkable foresight and action on issues like Asian Carp and advanced battery technology demonstrates the kind of vision he has for both Michigan’s environmental and economic health.”

Both of Metro-Detroit’s major newspapers have endorsed Steven Bieda for State Senate in the 9th Legislative District. The Free Press endorsement came out on July 11th, with the Detroit News making its endorsement on July 28th. Both newspapers noted Bieda’s expertise in government, especially his work on major ethics reforms.

The Editorial Board of the Detroit News has endorsed Steven Bieda for State Senator in the 9th District. “…former State Rep. Steven Bieda, an attorney and tax law expert. While he was in the Legislature he was a champion of ethics reform, successfully pushing through legislation requiring politicians to disclose contributions to their legal defense funds. He also advocated a cooling off period before lawmakers become lobbyists, sought full financial disclosure for political figures and complete accounting for lobbyist-funded trips. His backgroun as a tax analyst will prove especially useful.”

Members of the Eastpointe City Council, Wendy Richardson, Veronica Klinefelt, Philip Guastella, and Bill Sweeney, along with Mayor Suzanne Pixley and former Eastpointe Mayors James Kelly and Harvey Curley have enthusiastically endorsed Steven Bieda for State Senate. “Bieda is by far the best choice,” in the race for the Democratic nomination for State Senate.

The Political Action Committee of The Greater Detroit Building and Construction Trades Council has recommended Steve Bieda as “Eminently Qualified” to is membership in the up-coming August 3rd Democratic Primary. The Greater Detroit Building and Construction Trades represents the interests of 35,000 building trade union workers in Southeast Michigan.

The Michigan Laborers District Council and Michigan AFSCME Council 25 have both endorsed Steve Bieda for State Senate in District 9 in the Democratic Primary.

The Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, the largest Chamber in the country,  representing over 20,000 members and affiliates that employ over 3 quarters of a million workers, has  endorsed Steven Bieda for the State Senate.  “Bieda is the best choice, as someone who understands and can work with the business community to bring and create jobs in Michigan.”

The Michigan Public Transit Association (MPTA), Michigan’s largest and oldest statewide association of transportation systems, representing 50 of the state’s more than 70 organizated transit systems, has endorsed Steven Bieda for State Senate in the 9th District.
